Part of a building under construction for the Department of Architecture at Kano State University of Science and Technology in Wudil, Nigeria, collapsed Monday August 21. Initial media reports had stated that up to 20 people had died[1], but that was later revised by the University's Vice Chancellor, Professor Shehu Musa, to zero deaths and only five injuries.[2]

The three-story building was under construction at the time and not used by students, but at 1pm on Monday, the time of the collapse, reports had suggested scores of laborers were working on the building.[3]
